This week’s blog topic? Manifestation! I’ll share everything I know about the Law of Attraction and how to manifest anything you want. I learnt these nine methods to manifest and I’d like to share them with you. And at the bottom I listed a bunch of books about the topic that will explain everything in endless detail. Have fun 🙂
What is the Law of Attraction
I guess you have heard of the Law of Attraction and all of these crazy things people were able to manifest into their lives – all with the power of thought. And in case you haven’t, you’re in the right place! There are many ways you can make your dreams a reality, I’ll present them all to you, don’t worry : ) But what are the basic principles of manifestation? In this blog, I explained in detail how energy and vibrations work: We attract things into our lives that match the frequencies we vibrate on. We can do several things to raise our vibrations. The most important one is gratitude. Only if the universe understands that we’re grateful for what we already have, is it willing to give us more of those things. Also, you can’t chase after your desires – that will repel them from coming to you.
An abundant vs. a lack mindset
Your mindset is the most important thing (it’s crucial actually). You need to have an abundance mindset. This means acting as if you already have everything you want instead of focusing on what you don’t. The latter one is the definition of a lack mindset. We learnt that we attract what we focus on. Well, if we focus on what we don’t have then that’s what we’re gonna get. Believing in abundance means you trust that everything will come to you when it’s meant for you (here, we’re referring to destiny). We can never force something into our life that isn’t meant to be there. This then means we have to let go of everything that isn’t meant for us. By the way – if something isn’t meant for you, manifestation simply won’t work here. But that only means that something better is on the way to you. So, after gratitude, trust is an important aspect of the concept of manifesting. Together, they are the basics of the Law of Attraction.
1. Affirmations
When we want to manifest something, we need to pay attention to what we think (consciously and unconsciously) because our mindset is the most important thing here, remember? Affirmations are a great way of training your mind to believing certain things that you normally don’t in order to be able to attract them. If you want to manifest confidence, you can make use of affirmations that will (subconsciously) train your brain to believing you’re confident. Say those affirmations out loud when looking at yourself in the mirror. At first it will feel a little awkward, but it’s the most effective way for manifestations. The affirmations can be about anything really. You can personalize them to whatever you desire and want to attract. Here are a few examples:
- I am beautiful
- People are attracted to me
- Confidence comes easily to me
- I love money and money loves me back
- Money flows to me easily
- Everyday I wake up more beautiful
- I am perfectly healthy
- I am capable to achieve all of my goals
- I love the way I look when I see my reflection in the mirror
- It’s easy for me to get good grades
- I am an elegant and sophisticated woman
- I have a classy style
- People turn their heads when they pass by me on the street
- I am loved and supported by many people
- Success is on its way to me
- I am blessed
2. Visualizations
Another important aspect of the LoA is to be able to visualize the things you desire. Whether that’s a car, a house, a pet, a relationship, a vacation, a job, money, clothes, an apartment, clear skin, etc. I have read that if you’re able to see it in your mind, it’s already yours, because you got a glimpse of an alternative reality. Everything you desire already exists. The only question is how you’re going to receive it. But the ‘how’ isn’t your problem, the universe is the provider of your manifestations. The more detailed your visualizations are, the better. The trick here is that you need to be as specific as possible about what you want, otherwise you won’t be able to picture it well in your mind.
3. Mind Movies
You can use mind movies to help you with your visualizations. Create a short video of what you want, by editing a bunch of pictures that portray your desires into a video and putting some music over it, for example. Pinterest is a good place to find aesthetic pictures that align with those desires of yours. Watching those mind movies will help you imagine the things you want to manifest, especially if you watch them right when you wake up and right before you go to bed. This is when our brain switches to theta waves which gives you a much more direct access to your subconscious. When we know somethings subconsciously, the effects will be more drastic. Pair your video with music, because music can be high-vibrational too (you can search for high-vibe music on Spotify for example).
4. Vision boards
Vision boards are a less complicated way than the mind movies, are more prominent but essentially do the same thing. You can create vision boards physically or digitally. For the physical version, cut out a bunch of pictures that show your desired lifestyle and glue them onto a piece of paper or a wall. Digitally, you can create a vision board on canva for example and then set it as your desktop background. You can look at these boards anytime you want. It’ll help you imagine where you want to go in life or what you want to manifest. Be clear about what you want and then look for specific pictures that represent exactly that. For example: put a picture of a black Porsche 911 convertible of the year 1980 onto your board, instead of just any black car that looks nice to you. Got it?
5. Journal entries & mind maps
Journaling about what you want to manifest is really effective. Especially – and that’s the trick here – if you write as though you have already received it and write about them positively. Because, as we know, gratitude is one of the highest frequencies we can vibrate on and the higher the frequency the faster your manifestations will works and your desires can be called into your life. An example: If you want to manifest a trip to Paris, write about the day you spent there, the outfit you wore, the people you were with, the things you did, what you bought, what the weather was like, etc. Again, write as though what you want to manifest has already happened and is already yours. And: describe it with as much detail as possible. Creating a mind map with the categories and your specific wishes works too. I have heard stories where people wrote down everything they desired, put the mind map away, forgot about it and a year later found it again, only to realize that (almost) everything they wrote down is now in their possession. Cool, no?
6. Audio affirmations
Recording your affirmations and them listening to them is an alternative to saying them to yourself in the mirror. Compared to just saying the affirmations, hearing them is like somebody else would say these things about you (as an outside perspective) and maybe that helps you believe them more. Again, this works best right before going to sleep and right after waking up. It’s really similar to the mind movie, only that it’s audio only, nothing visual. Find out what you prefer, what you’re more comfortable with and what’s more effective. I’ll tell you, in the beginning it’s rather weird to hear your own voice, but after a while it can be really pleasant.
7. Walking meditation
This next method is explained by Dr. Joe Dispenza in his book “Becoming supernatural”, where he also talks about manifestation. He says that you can attract things into your life by taking on the identity of the person who has those things. For example, you would like to have a certain job, a certain amount of money, a certain confidence, fashion style, etc. Imagine being this person while walking through the streets. It will give you some of the confidence you’re looking for. And the thing about the meditation again has to do with the brainwaves. During the day we operate on beta-waves, we have alpha-waves during sleep and then theta-waves in the stages between. Now, when we’re really calm, like let’s say during meditation, we operate on delta waves. Try to stay in this trance-like state when you take on the day. Again, manifestation is easier that way. But I get that this is a little complex to understand.
8. Alter ego
This is an extension of the chapter before. Create an alter ego of the person you would like to become. Think of how she carries herself, what she looks like, what she does during the day, what her job is, how she speaks, what she eats, what kind of music she listens to, what books she reads, what she does in her free time, etc. I guess you have a picture of that person in your mind. Give her a name. And then try to go through life as that person. Whenever you face a difficult situation, imagine what that person would do if they were in your situation. And then try to act accordingly. Your alter ego can be an imagined person or an idol that you have. If you admire a movie character for example, think of him or her instead. This technique will not only give you more confidence, but it also helps you visualize what exactly you want in your life. But remember, never focus on lack, because that will repel your manifestations.
9. Ask for more
Lastly, you can always ask for more. I heard someone say that another method is to say to the universe “thank you for the money, I love money, can I please have more” (as an example). This gives the impression that you already received what you desired (which is a very magnetic state to be in and will support your manifestations) and it puts you in a state of gratitude. This, as we have learned, is crucial to be able to attract.
The thing with manifestation is that you have to believe that it works. Because if you don’t it won’t work. However, please keep in mind that the Law of Attraction is really powerful and it would be a waist to only use it for material things. You know, you can attract health, love, growth, wisdom, and other important spiritual aspects into your life too. Maybe consider such things too when imagining what you want your dream life or your ideal self to look or be like.
