We reach the Other Side once we go through a tunnel where we see a light at the end. Photo: Pexels
After having recently read this amazing book (Life on the Other Side by Sylvia Browne) – and as I am some sort of book blogger haha – I found it very necessary to write about my impressions, what sounded right and wrong to me and why I think you should read it.
Life after death has always fascinated me. I just couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that we might only be awaited by nothingness once we pass away.
Turns out, we’re much more on alive on the Other Side than we are on earth. (I used to call our home the spirit world – as does Dr. Michael Newton by the way – but I like “the Other Side”). She calls it that because we can only access it through a tunnel, as has often been described by people with near death experiences, by the way.
Life on the Other Side is paradise
She described (and I am totally convinced by that) that the Other Side is our home, it’s where we love to be. We spend most of our eternal lives as souls there and only sometimes visit earth to learn some things.
The Other Side looks very like our own world, but without any problems (waste, money, climate change, hunger, violence, etc.) Apparently, we all live very peacefully besides each other.
She described the Other Side in great detail, which I can’t do here, which is why I recommend you read it 🙂 But important to mention would be that apparently there are breathtakingly beautiful buildings there that we visit before and after reincarnation. Mostly, we study there, prepare for our next life or return there to discuss our experiences with our spirit guides etc.
We are connected with so many other Souls
She said that we have our “family” on the Other Side. I put it between quotation marks because of course, no one is related by blood. Rather, it’s a number of other souls we choose to incarnate in similar bodies over and over again. With similar bodies I mean those people could be your now friends, siblings, parents, partners, kids, etc.
They await us when we return home, in case they pass away before us. Otherwise, we await them. They might also visit us on earth from time to time, but because unfortunately we’re unable to recognize souls that aren’t living in a human body, we don’t see them. But sometimes they also communicate with us through dreams or a certain “gut feeling”.
We might have karmic relationships with some of them. That means that we still need to teach each other some things and so we inhabit bodies we might now have “difficult” relationships with.
Everything serves a purpose. And so, if a person has a big impact on you throughout your life (can be positive and negative) you probably have to teach each other some things.
Spirit Guides and Soulmates
Every single one of us has a spirit guide. They are our friends back at home and agreed to take care of us during this life time. It can be a tricky job because they might want to help us but can’t reach us.
Some people even negate their existence by simply not believing in their existence or presence. Their main task is to guide us through this life, through good and bad times.
Therefore, they need to study us and our previous lifetimes, so that they understand why we would act a certain way or what could be especially good or bad for us. They might even know more about us than we do. But that’s irrelevant as we suffer from amnesia every time we get born anyway.
About soulmates she said, that everyone always puts such a big pressure on finding their soulmate when actually only few of us do. (This is something I’m not 100% sure about, but I’ll leave this statement here anyway).
She said, most probably our soulmates are at home on the Other Side joyously awaiting our return. However, we might be so lucky to meet them, and if we do, we’ll recognize them.
Hard vs. Easy life
Here, she said an interesting thing. She wrote that most people think that a hard life is some kind of punishment for bad behavior in a past life. I would understand that as karma. She said, that’s not the case.
Rather, a hard life is more of a gift or a big opportunity for us. It grants us much more valuable opportunities for our growth as a soul and will bring us much further in our self-development (which is something that does actually make sense to me).
She said, something like hell does not exist (which surprised me as she claimed to be a very religious person). Life on earth comes closer to the concept of hell, as it can be filled with all kinds of suffering; hunger, physical pain, a broken heart, hard labor, heat, cold, war, etc. Real bad karma is the left door.
The left door
So, the left door is where you go when you can’t go home. Before being able to go home (which by the way is not far away, it’s right among us just on another dimension), we have to go through a tunnel. If we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, we’re almost home.
However, if you’re a “creature from the dark side” (a bad guy, in other words), you will not be able to go home. Instead, you’ll go through the left door which will bring you right back in utero. You’ll be reborn soon, without any breaks on the Other Side, and will have to live another (potentially very difficult) life on earth.
That’s bad because usually we like to spend a lot of time in the spirit world – maybe hundreds of years (because time is not something we perceive there), before we decide to get reborn. If we decide to go back to earth.
My take-aways
This book was packed with information about the spiritual world we live in. Our times on earth are brief but painful. The Other Side is where we’re truly at home, and where we love to be. Some souls are special people to us and oftentimes we decided to reincarnate at the same time as them in similar circumstances.
Soulmates do exist but we might not always find them. Spirit Guides also exist but we need to learn to listen to them. We constantly communicate with the Other Side, but don’t consciously remember. Everything that happens to us helps us in our personal development and is therefore good.
I hope you found all of this as interesting as I did. And maybe I could even encourage you to read it (in that case you’ll find in my book shop or here). Let me know what your thoughts are on this topic in the comments 🙂
