This is what really comes after we face Death

The spirit world – or the Other Side – is home of all souls. It’s where we go when we die. Photo: Pexels

It has been long discussed whether life goes on after death or not. The church made use of the fear they inflicted on people that they would be facing hell after death – instead of heaven. This way they would be able to control what we believe in and got us to act a certain way.

Now, spirituality says this is not true – although the idea of afterlife – heaven and hell – isn’t coming from nowhere. Rather, reincarnation is one of the major aspects that spirituality is built upon.

However, reincarnation means rebirth and describes the fact that we are eternal souls, made out of energy, that don’t die when they leave the body after death. Really, there is much more to it though.

Only the Body dies

Of course, when our bodies die, the soul doesn’t stay in the body. The only purpose our human bodies have is to enable us to move around on earth while we make human experiences.

Essentially, the body is necessary in order for us to be able to evolve and advance as a soul – that’s it. Death only means that our mission in this lifetime is over and that we probably accomplished what we intended to. We don’t need this body anymore.

So, our souls leave the body. People who have experienced near death experiences describe this process as floating above our own bodies and being able to see it all from a second perspective – before we then leave for good.

Where do we go?

This is something Dr. Michael Newton explains in detail in his book ‘Journey of Souls’. We get drawn into the universe and have to go through a tunnel of light. Eventually, we’ll get to the so-called spirit world – heaven, if you will, but more importantly our home.

Especially if our soul is rather young and inexperienced, we will be greeted by our soul mates and our other soul friends. We will be able to recognize them, by the way. A subject in ‘Journey of Souls’ described this encounter as really pleasant.

We might be welcomed by our spirit guides too – more on spirit guides later on though.

Feedback from the Council of Elders

We will never be punished for what we did on earth when we arrive in the spirit world. However, we will have a meeting with the council of elders – really old souls that don’t incarnate on earth anymore.

Together with our spirit guide(s) we will reflect on your life and draw conclusions. If we were “bad” we would be sent to a separate place to think about what we did. The thing however is that there are no “bad” souls.

If we do something that’s considered evil, it’s because we let ourselves be overpowered by the human body who is capable of acting without morals. Souls will rather punish themselves when they were unable to resist their human body’s evil tendencies.

Improvement and learning

Before we’re able to live another life, we need to make sure we learnt our lessons. Sometimes, we might be spending thousands of years incarnating again and again, trying to get over a specific flaw that we have.

We will be shown how life could have turned out differently, had we acted in a different way or made other decisions. Sometimes, we mourn over a life we could have had.

Or sometimes we’ll spend a lot of time in isolation because of shame, regret and guilt. However, to be able to advance we need to “go to school” in the spirit world (this is how Newton describes it) and keep learning.

Rest and Recreation

To be honest, life on earth is really hard. Constantly, we face pain. We’re tired, we’re sad, we suffer from heartbreak, we have accidents, we get sick, we’re hungry, we’re depressed, we get betrayed, left, etc. This is mostly the case for the people who live privileged lives.

In war-torn or third world countries life is much more serious and difficult. Therefore, we usually don’t want to go back to earth. The spirit world is really peaceful, there is no competition, no destruction, but pure peace (as described in ‘Journey of Souls’).

But we know reincarnation serves us a lot. Life on earth provides many lessons which is why we eventually decide to go back.

The Choice is ours

Before we decide to reincarnate, we will be presented several options of lives we could live. Usually, there is one easy choice, presented to us as a beautiful woman for example who will be accepted much more by society.

Often times, there will be an option that will be most beneficial, but then life will be rather hard. The choices of life will differ in sex, place, family, status, etc. What we make of life however, we decide once we’re human.

Here I explain how destiny defines our life but how we’re still able to form them ourselves (to a certain degree).

Before the new Life begins

Once we made the choice which body we want to inhabit we will have some sort of meeting with our soulmates and soul friends who will experience this life with us in form of our parents, siblings, friends, lovers etc.

Clues will be implanted in us that will enable us to recognize them during the lifetime. Important namely is, that we will suffer from amnesia once we get reborn. As much as this amnesia hinders us from making certain decisions, it is absolutely crucial that we get to start over.

Otherwise, we would be crushed by the memories of past lives – past mistakes, loves, memories, wishes, dreams, journeys. We have to – or rather we get to – start from zero. And actually, that’s really beautiful.

Love, Valentina <3
