Here’s why we can’t fail in life. This text is meant to serve as a little heads up for those who – yet again – have been through something they didn’t think would happen. This is for the people who…
- missed out on an opportunity they wanted to pursue
- lost something they wanted to keep
- something didn’t work out how they planned
- suffer in a situation they didn’t think they would be in
- feel behind in life
- think they are missing out
- suffer from a broken heart
- compare their life’s journey with someone else’s
- feel like they just aren’t good enough
- feel like they are disappointing their parents (or themselves)
- failed something
- feel disappointed in themselves
- couldn’t do something that was important to them
- got broken up with
- feel like they are waisting their life away
- fear an upcoming event
- and so on…
Being disappointed by Life is normal
First of all – I know how you feel. Especially when we’re young we tend to cling so hard onto the plans we made for ourselves and our lives that we get soooo disappointed when something doesn’t work out the way we wanted. And life presents us so many of these situations, all disguised a little bit different, but at the core they all tell us the same.
Such situations make us feel as though we aren’t good enough, as though we’re missing out or are behind. We as humans can get so disappointed. When we look at things from our point of view – with the little experience we have and with whatever importance we put onto that specific thing we desire – we don’t react how it would be the most healthy. Sometimes, we think that whatever is in front of us will be the end of the world if it shouldn’t work out.
Change how you see the Things in your Life
But look at it from a different perspective. When you’re older – and once you’ve lived a fair amount of life – things will seem so unimportant and small and insignificant. It won’t matter if you passed that one exam or not, if you had a bad or a good grade, if you got your driver’s license at the age of 18 or 20 or 24. It won’t matter if you got that job or another, as long as you’re fulfilled with it.
Personally, I got the chance of living in Madrid for a few months. And the city has so quickly turned into my favorite place on this world. And one day, the day came where I had to move back home and ever since I don’t feel the same amount of happiness as I did there. I just don’t. And ever since I feel like I’m missing out! I’m afraid I’m wasting my life away living somewhere I don’t like and will only be happy once I get the opportunity to move back.
We don’t always have a Say
But that’s not how it’s like. Right now, I just don’t know what the bigger picture is. We all have a soul plan and a destiny. A long time ago we have decided on what kind of life we want to live and have chosen the corresponding circumstances. And some of those circumstances are easier and some are more difficult, in some we’re happier, others bring us suffering. But all of them show us different sides of ourselves and make us learn different things, which is crucial in a human’s life. It’s as simple as that. Every single situation we face in life will bring value to the person we will turn into in the future.
Don’t take Things too seriously
You can’t fail in life! Because each situation, each loss and each gain, every experience, every change – whether we like it or not – is not only helpful for us, but necessary. It will turn you into the person you are meant to become. If you think back, had you not traveled to a certain place, met certain people, seen certain things, read certain books, had certain jobs, etc. you would not be that miracle of a person you are right now.
Everything that happened to you – whether those were pleasant or tough things, I bet that now you wouldn’t want it any other way. If you could choose right now, would you want to erase all suffering, all doubt or uncertainty, all fear you ever felt? I guess not! You wouldn’t have the same amount of experience, knowledge, tools, wisdom etc.
Look at it from a different Angle…
There is no such thing as failure, there is only redirection. And there is also no such thing as good or bad, just pleasant and unpleasant. Just because you don’t like the situation you’re in right now, doesn’t mean you’re going to stay there forever. I think that right now you are just being prepared for the good things that are coming. You first need some tools in your hand to be able to handle the future with much more ease.
Suffering – your best Friend in disguise
If you’re suffering – and I’m not telling you shouldn’t, or to just ‘get over it’ – try to take as much care of yourself in this moment and always – and I repeat – always try to look at the good side of things. You can’t fail in life. You’re just being redirected by a higher power you haven’t met yet. You’re just taking the next step in a plan you don’t know.
It’s necessary for you to read all the pages in a book, not just the fun ones. Because at the end of the day it’s the hurt and the welfare, the happiness and sadness, the fear and relief, the laughter and the crying, that make a great story. And remember: You can’t fail in life 😉
Love, Valentina <3
